High 5 for Friday!

It's Friday (FINALLY!) I seriously thought I would never make it to the end of the week! Was this week slower than usual for you guys too? Regardless, I'm so happy its finally Friday!

1. Milo (our cat) is a very active and rambunctious little kitty and will never sleep with us.  However, on Wednesday the most exciting thing happened, he fell asleep right next to me! Now he didn't stay long, but all that matters is it was the last thing i remember before drifting off into dreamland. :)

2. So as I mentioned in an earlier post, I was going to try to recreate something I found on Pinterest.  I did it! (It still needs to be painted, but I love it!) One of the easiest and cheapest projects.

 3. This picture doesn't look like much, but we have this empty area that I call "the nook" upstairs in the hallway outside all the bedrooms.  I didn't want the space to go to waste so I turned it into my office.  The big accomplishment was this bookcase.  I took it from downstairs, and brought it upstairs all by myself! I felt so strong!

4. One of the girls I work with is leaving to get married and living in another state. So sad.  So last night, some of us from the office got together and had a little happy hour in her honor. Good times.

5. Last but not least who can resist a giant collosal donut on a Friday.  It's the last day of the quarter here at work so we get all sorts of food brought in.  It's managements way of keeping us working all day and not leaving for hour long lunches. ;) I know their tricks, but if donuts are involved, I'm more than happy to comply.

I hope you enjoyed reading about my week in a nutshell! Link up with Lauren From My Grey Desk for other High 5 for Friday posts! :)

Marathon Training

Next week marks the start to my first ever....MARATHON TRAINING!  Is this happening? Am I really doing this? CAN I do this? Sure I can, but definitely not alone. I am going to follow Jeff Galloway's program here. It's a 28 week program that is catered to your level of fitness.

In February I ran my first long race, a HALF marathon and I thought I might die.  Ok, not really but it was no joke! My friend, Rachel and I ran it together with my mom cheering us on at the start and finish.  What race was it? Well I'm glad you asked! We ran the Disney Princess Half Marathon in Disney World! Yes, you will soon learn that most everything in my life will center around Disney if possible.  I did an internship in college there, got engaged there, and we got married there! (It's perfectly normal, I promise) Christopher and I try to go back as often as possible so if I can cross something off my bucket list at the same time then it's a win win!

So back to this whole running thing.  I have a love/hate relationship with running so this journey will not only be rewarding, but also very challenging.  So you ask, if you're not completely in love with running, then why are you subjecting your body to such torture? Well, it's kind of hard to explain.  I started running to get in shape and lose some weight before our wedding in 2010.

Not only did it help with weight loss, but I loved the sense of accomplishment I got when I shaved off a few seconds or even minutes from every run! I made it a point to be just a little faster than the run before. From there, I started running a variety of races to help stay motivated and give me distance goals to reach for. The rest is history.

I'm not fast by any means, and I'm not as routine as I would like, but setting goals is key. We bought a treadmill at the Salvation Army last month so I'm trying to get back into it by running 3 to 4 times a week. While on the treadmill I got to thinking, I should train for something new.  I can run 5 miles without stopping so I needed a chellenging goal, something I would be proud of for the rest of my life....thus came the brilliant idea to run a FULL marathon! As soon as I finished running I went straight to the runDisney website to check out the upcoming races. I thought about running the Princess Half again to beat my first time, but the following week I am going on cruise (Yes, it is a Disney cruise...surprised?!) so I couldn't take 2 consecutive weeks off work. The Disney World Marathon Weekend caught my eye becuase it's in January. What perfect timing! Enough time to train, but it takes place before the cruise so I can celebrate! Next step is to just sign up!

Working from home

Great start to my weekend....working from home lounging around the house in my sweats. OK, for real I AM working...just in my pj's. :) I have a list of things I need to do, both for work and at home, but I have the hardest time getting motivated! (I don't know how my husband did this for so long).

On today's list there are a variety of projects and activities.  For starters, I need to just do the general housework.  Booo who wants to do that? So instead, I've spent my morning coming up with more fun things to do. I saw this on Pinterest via (Shoestring Sophistication Blog) a few days ago and am planning a trip to Home Depot a little later.

I also have a a major project I just need to finish! For some reason I have not had the motivation to do the very little that is left. I think my husband is tired of going to bed every night with the room looking like this: (There is even less to do now!) Who can blame him right? As Nike says..."Just Do It!"

Right now I am having a hard time pulling myself away from the computer due to cute overload! Meet Milo the cat! :)

Happy Friday everyone! Enjoy this hot weekend by the pool.  As for me, I will be heading to a wedding!

Giving this a try.....

After reading and following tons of blogs out there, I decided it was time to share a little piece of my world! (Hence the name, A Little Bolt of Life!) It's a play on words using my last name (Bolt)...I know, I'm so clever!  Stay tuned as I track my marathon training (1st one!), various Disney trips throughout the year, our home and family.

Today I want to share some pictures that illustrate my life in a nutshell. ENJOY!
